This one was started 2 years ago, and luckily wasn't damaged at my previous residence. Now I can continue. It started life as a Kenworth K123 kit I bought 22 years ago. I eventually disassembled it for my parts box after it fell off of a shelf when I was a teenager. After many moves over the years, I went through my parts box and realized I still had the complete frame, although broken. With the re-release of the K123 kit, an idea hit me while looking at the orange truck pictured on the boxart. The good frame in the kit I bought will be used for a conversion kit I bought, while the cab from the kit will be used on this build. Here is what I started with. Fisrt step was to shorten the frame for a single axle. In the pic you will see shortened fuel tanks. The engine is being modified into a Cummins NH-250. I'm going with 2 hole Budds from AITM, single stack, and this short 131" wheelbase. The NH 250. A basic mockup. The cab mostly finished. The trailer. I need to touch up a little, but it's basically done. That's where she sits right now. I hope to have it done fairly soon.

I've been able to get this little guy closer to being done. Just a few more things along with mounting the cab, and it will be ready. Engine is in and wheels are mounted. Since I converted the engine to an NH 250, I went with a smaller air cleaner from a W925 and smaller intake tubing. It seemed more appropriate for a naturally aspirated engine. I also made a new air cleaner stack from K and S brass tubing and a cap from the parts box. A scratchbuilt driver's step was installed just ahead of the air cleaner. The exhaust pipe was made from bits out of my parts box. The stack itself is the kit muffler shaved smooth with a brass heat shield from Czech Truck Modell wrapped around it. A K and S aluminum tube tops it off. I did shorten the 5th wheel slider plate a little also. Here is a quick mockup. The cab is just resting on the frame in this pic. As you can see it's almost done.
