to get that really "Chunky" rust on exhaust manifolds, we can use a similar technique as rusty bubbled paint. Pick the manifold & pipework you wish to rust up, apply a liberal coat of Model Master "Rust" & while wet toss the whole part in a small container of baking soda, shake it a bit for full coverage. Remove & tap part on lip of container to knock off the excess. Allow paint & soda to dry over night. THe next day apply another coat of rust paint, if you want certain areas more chunky than others, sprinkle more baking soda on & let dry, add more paint & let dry overninght. Next using the Rust-all system of rust,& black washes, dead flat & dust for high lights & adding depth to the rust. Ap40 Attachments:

Ap40 Here again you can also use baby powder or ground Corn Meal depending on the intensity of the rust.
