Jerry I'm really hoping you will find a light at the end of this long tunnel. Unless I find a rich uncle to finance the new printer, I might have to close up shop. I finally got word my printers are ready, but the ALPS are starting to cost me too much to keep going.

Jerry, Don't throw in the towel yet! How long will it take to get your printers back from Japan? From what you have told us. It seems that you have identified the problem of why they are breaking down. is there any way to avoid further breakdowns? By improving care and feeding of the machine??? :-) ?-) What happened to the idea of investors or contributing partners?

As soon as I pay for them, I should have my printers back from Japan in about a week or so. This will be a continuing problem--it has been for them I think since day one. I know what the problem is (part of it anyhow) and there is very little I can do to prevent it. I can take safeguards, but that's not sure-fire. ALPS quit production on the printers in 2010 and cartridge production will cease in 2015.I think that they have also quit making the heads (which is what gets damaged) as well. I'm still open for investors, assuming the new printer will print the way I need it--still waiting on the samples to arrive. Wells Fargo won't finance me because I'm not registered with the state (in other words, incorporated), so unless I find someone with a business that is willing to sign a lease, or someone to loan me the money, I'm kinda at the end of the rope. Unless something develops by the end of the year......well.......it's not an easy decision to make.

The answer is right there, the time has come to get incorporated & ditch the prehistoric ALPS printer, step up to the bar and take YOUR business to the next level. The Apls was great when it first hit the market, 20 years ago, compared to 2013 tech it might as well be a stone & tablet.
Yes it will be sad to see the product line fail, but not from lack of customers.

As stated on my lease app, "LIMITED TIME IN BUSINESS" and "LIMITED CREDIT HISTORY". hogwash in my book. But, it is what it is right now.

Rick, I do understand what you're saying. I guess it seems like I'm begging for money to get the printer, but I'm not thinking too clear considering the situation. Mainly what I am looking for is an option that I haven't thought of yet.

Jerry, Hang in there. When the time is right everything will become clear and fall into place. Though you may have to nudge it a bit!!

Just a quick update......still waiting on the ALPS to return from Japan and I've gotten approval for the NEW printer I've been looking at. Now waiting on samples back from the manufacturer for my approval before we can close the deal.
