Last year I did a photo shoot of a 1/2 inch garden railway here in the desert. Muleskinner has asked me to post the pictures here and as I don't know how to post the album, you can click on my Fotki below and scrool down 9 albums to the railroad album and check out about 100 photo's of it. This would be 1/24th scale to us truck modelers. TUFFTIN.fotki.com/Mike Hosted on Fotki

Mike,
I keep looking at this picture and the other ones and can imagine a logging schene there with my Lidgerwood and jammer loading log cars. Thuis is one fantastic 1/2 scale railroad set up. Thanks a lot for posting them.

That old Davit Spar donkey loader is quite the relic from times gone by! Great shot of it and the old cat with wicker wagon. Really cool.

Is that the one done by several residents of a retirement community? Either way it is totally awesome. Hop would you like to have a place that big indoors. where we all could display our models. if we lived closer together! There is a lot of work in those buidlings and such!!

Yes sir! It's in Valley Del Oro Retirement Community in Mesa, Arizona. The park supplied not only the real estate but all the cement blocks, dirt and all the rail and the rail isn't cheap. The members supply their own buldings, figures, die cast vehicles and bring their own trains to play with. They work on it feverishly all winter and it's a real show piece that covers about 2 lots or maybe larger, in size. Some of the layout depicts things of real life. A scene along Route 66 and a trestle from Canada. Hosted on FotkiThis is a replica of a Candian trestle. Hosted on FotkiAnd that's honest to goodness real water under the trestle. Mike

You could probably build one here in OK.
