1949 Mercury Club Coupe Police Package

Here is a little project I started a couple of weeks ago.



Managed to get some work done on the frame, engine, & interior.



Here's a closer shot of the Mercury V-8:

Well, Sheriff is starting to take shape:







Hoping to get the engine finished up this weekend & completely installed; then start on the interior. Fit in general has been pretty poor.

I picked up this kit over the summer, kinda curled my lip when you stated "Fit in general has been pretty poor."
The Flathead nostalgia bug bit me hard this summer, been picking up just about every kit that has a flathead and even drove 650 miles to get six flathead engines!, the pizzer is I dropped the last one we loaded in the pickup in my right middle finger and cut it off!, sat in the ER for about five hours while they dinked around sewing it back on!??
Your build looks real good so far!

Seems to be coming along very nicely.

Thanks. Getting all four wheels to touch the ground at the same time has been a challenge. Haven't been very successful yet.

It got cut thru the middle of the nail and pulled it all the way off and sheared the bone!, just a little meat on the inside holding it on!, the scar is VERY! tender and hurts like an SOB in the cold!, the nail may grow back and look half way decent??, I think the part that hurts the most is the doctor bills!!
I'm keeping an eye on this build!

Glad to see you back on this one. I have one or two of this kit but mine are older. I don't remember the frame being warped. But now that Imhave said that ! When Ipull it out to finish it I may get a nasty surprise . lol

I have managed to get some more work done on Sheriff. Here is the completed dash with Best Model Car parts gauges & the radio from the Revell 1957 Ford Custom Police Car.



If it ever warms up & stops raining (and I get all of the flash off of the body), maybe I'll be able to get some paint on the body.
