This one waited a while as other projects finished up (maybe it was hiding from the model police! ;D ), back on the bench now. AMT's 3 rear compartment doors seemed odd, either side compartments are very shallow or they have two doors opening into them - one on side and one at back: Rear panel reworked and two .020 styrene doors installed, this arrangement is much more typical of all the pumpers I have seen. Steps at either side made from small pieces cut from leftover Road Boss kit step: .020 styrene also used for 3 small doors on left side. Kit slamlock door latch detail removed, etched ones from MCG will be installed so all door hardware matches:

Hi Robert The Thibault pumper that we had had a full width compartment at the rear. There were double doors in the rear and the rear door on each side opened into it also. We used to keep our MSA air pack cases back there.
You are mking good progress on this project Carl

Robert,
Nice, what a great use for the some what limiting old L-700 kit.
Saw one that a farmer had "modified" in western New York, he stuffed a DDC 6V53 in it & added a tandem out back....
Looking forward to seeing this one done.

This is such a great project, one that you wouldn't expect to turn up a lot. That's why I like this one. Keep it up Robert, you're doing great on this!

Hi Robert I was in the Kincardine fire hall today and we found these old pictures in their archives. This truck was purchased new in 1970 we think. The truck is a King Seagrave. It has a 361 gas engine. I think these first two pictures were taken the day that the new truck was delivered. There are no dates on the pictures. This picture was probably taken near the end of its working life. Notice that it has had the mirrors replaced or modified. The body work on the King-Seagrave is fairly sparse. So know we know that there were atleast 2 Dodge firetrucks in existance Carl

Ah, zut! This means I must order another AMT pumper kit and an L700.......wait a minute, I already have some in the stash! Looks like another project idea, in fact some details on the Seagrave body loook closer to AMT kit than the Thibault one! Thanks for posting the photos Carl!
