Hi, Tamiya flat earth makes a great dusty dirt. WATER down, brush or better spray with air brush, light coats. Remember , get model near edge of work surface so you can spray up, dirt doesn't fall from sky. Gives heavier look at bottom lighter as it goes up. For mud/ dirt build up- mix some baking powder in paint to get texture and use brush to apply. To add a wet look, light airbrush spray of FUTURE FLOOR WAX, very shiny water clear. Also make good decal sealer.Go slow you can add more but can't take it off. Thanks Doug.

I guarantee that lettering got you cross eyed doing it individually . Truck is looking very cool..

Another source of cross-eyed madness: Exhaust pipes formed from styrene rod (actually parts runner from a different kit). KW kit parts used for vertical end portion of pipe (where stack attaches) after filling in back side with styrene rod/putty:

A Detroit! Any more pictures of how you detailed the engine?
Keep up the awesome work. Your builds are so detailed.

Actually engine is pretty much "out of the box", I think this one may have come from a Titan/90 kit. Most of the wiring visible is off the frame, I did run a couple wires off generator and add some air lines to compressor. Rad hoses formed from parts runner, hose clamps are thin strips cut from Bare Metal Foil. Stack is K&S aluminum tube, I tried to replicate damaged tip on driver side pipe. Not sure about passenger side one so I'm "assuming" it broke off.......broken end is the real thing, from first attempt at putting bend in tip of stack:

Finally getting close to "the end".......chrome items finished with Alclad and all installed now. Tamiya clear orange and red used on turn signal light, .010 styrene strip used for "skirt" on forward half of air cleaner lid. Chrome air cleaner straps cut from self adhesive chrome sheet. Grey paint accent below Kenworth hood side badge cut from scrap of decal paper painted same "gunship grey" as cab/hood. That trademark W900 feature, fender marker lights above headlights, made using parts box Ford Louisville kit roof marker lights.

Thanks Gator - yes, the "push" is on to have this one completed for Utica next month. Some harvesting will be required to put load together, I would prefer to use real wood rather than try and build convincing logs. Taking a quick measurement, looks like 30" to 36" long by about 1" - 1-1/4" diameter at the base will be needed.

Hi, that is looking really good. Those Ford marker lights are perfect for those Kenworth fender lights, I used them for that as well. Hope you can find a good load, I had some lims from a mature spruce that looked great, scale size bark. Tough to find ones straight for the length needed. Looks good. Thanks Doug.
