Tyson, Really got some good things going on with this model. I really like the improvised fenders! ( For weld lines I use the tube type glue with the tapered tip and just run a bead where you want the weld and let it dry!) But yours looks good as well.

Tyson, the 12x24's will fill out the front end just as the kit is (original DC dump truck kit), or the A64B you have started with. For the rear suspension, if you have the walking beam rear, you will need to cut out & remove the w-beam & fabricate a new beam so that the distance between the center line of the drive axles is 60". In 1/25 this is 60mm. OR if you have the Timken top load rears & springs from the dump truck, there is just enough room to spread the rear axles apart with minimal modification. Alternatively, if you have any of the Mack DM-600 or 800 rear bogies, the 12x24's fit with no mods at all. Happy modeling Ap40

I'm thinking they'll have no problem fitting under the fenders, but I feel like they're gonna ride a bit above the frame in the back unless I'm misjudging height. If it were your kit would you modify the kit parts or replace them with the AITM Mack rears that arnd is using? Keep in mind that this truck isn't a "true" off highway logger. It's basically meant to be a O/O truck, but dressed up for off highway work. It'll be running the AMT Peerless, and I know that trailer isn't built to represent the monster loggers.

Well then, with that theme, i would go with the Mack rears, but leave the height the same. I have seen this this in the woods here in New York, where a fellow gets a deal on a road tractor & converts it with bigger tires to haul logs. the truck usually does not last long & the owners can't figure out why..... I'll definitely go for the Mack rears then. Since I'm going to redo the rears I might as well make them fully articulated as well.
Building steps for the doors now, but since I'll have to wait a couple weeks on shipping I might carve out the doors and make them hinged too.

Building the steps. It's just hanging there with blu tack for now, and the phone pic washed out most of the detail.

Pic's a bit washed out again. I'll try to get some better lit pics tomorrow. Scratch building front bumper and grill guard. Close to finished with this part.

Oh, also decided to stick a Cat 3406b under the hood instead of the Cummins.

Tyson, Your pics are good enough to show the detail and your progress. I like the things that you are doing to this one.

Added plumbing to the Cat. Anyone know of any diagrams for the transmission?
