I have been working on this rig for many months and now it is finished. As many of you know from previous postings on this model, I took the Moebius Lone star and an ERTL International Transtar plus one of Cargo stars Lonestar day cabs and built what I call a theoretical version of a logging rig based on this new model.
I took the contemporary approach to building and with the use of the ERTL model came up with the following Build. The trailer units are all scratch built from evergreen plastic with a few commercial parts added from the AMT Logging trailer to bring it to perspective.the rear trailer unit is built from pictures of the 1:1 unit at Wit-Log in Roseburg, Oregon. The headache rack is also built from an actual Wit Log unit which I used as a guide in building. The front bunks of the main truck are cast in white metal from a set of Modified ERTL bunks from the paystar Logging Truck which was released back in the late 70's.
As I have mentioned this is a theoretical build and to my knowledge no one has yet built a 1:1 Lonestar unit for use in the logging industry. It took many months of designing and building to get this rig into what you see in the photos. Hope you like it.
