The unit is one of the first Logging Models I ever built and was done so off o a set of photos of the 1:1 unit which is was owned by Gross Logging of Catching Creek, Oregon. I started with an ERTL Paystar 5000 frame which I modified, and then scratch built the Prentice and deck on top of it. The Model The original 1:1 Detail shots of the model.

Thanks Dave. When the pics were taken Mark (Loghauler70) was over here and brought the rig for me to see. So we used it in the photo.

Now we do have things like that here, But I think they just use a grapple? I will have to pay more attention to them. I know that there has been a lot of innovation over the years in the logging industry. This machine is the proof of that! Great model by the way!

Hey great loader William, That is just soooo cool. Say, you still have measurements or info on the boom and grapple. I need to redo mine. Super cool build Will Kerry

That would be so kind of you Will and a great help. I built mine on the back of a Mack truck for the woods. The one you built I have seen working in a pulpwood yard unloading trucks and stacking it in rows. I used to wish that I had that job while I worked at a veneer mill. Thanks Will Kerry

That turned out nice. The Paystar frame seems to be really versatile since Ive seen builders create amazing things on it such as this.

Was that a Pierce or Lanco carrier william, we had a 600b prentice setup on a lanco detroit 6v92 down and allis chalmers up. she was a big log machine too slow for little stuff, and with the old low pressure hydraulics would really make you hate life after a day of loading the pecker poles. After fixing frames on the rubber machines and them in my opinion being unsafe to drive id rather walk on tracks any day.
