I have the decals made up for the Jim Dobbas rig form Antelope, California. I was wondering when someone was going to get around to building this type rig.

another great subject to make! Will this be just a cab kit, or are you planning to make the whole truck?

Dan,
So the tiny Detroit 6-71 is going in the massive KW 849?
I like the Brockway, which one are you going to do? some of the photos are of the 200 series which had smaller engines, mostly Continental. and the cab construction was a wood frame wrapped with sheet metal.
The 300 series had larger radiator space for larger engines (up to the 12V71) and the cab was the "new" all steel design.

Hi all great to see the old Jim Dobbas off highway logger and now a casting to make one. A bit of history on the Dobbas truck, it was one of quite a fleet owned by Collins Pine Company in Chester Ca. They ran theyre own logging and private road log hauling up until the mid 80's. Most of these trucks were sold at auction, a few have been saved alot scrapped and i know of some just sitting rotting away in various places. Collins ran these trucks forever and just kept rebuilding them and updating with new parts as they became available or original parts obsolete. they were well cared for hence so many still exist. the original collins color was orange. Jim Dobbas is a large railroad wreck contractor with union pacific out of newcastle ca, he also has land in the sierra valley in north east ca and nevada. Jim has quite a collection of old trucks and is always adding to it. He rebuilds and yes uses many of them including his 55 autocar and bull nose kenworth hauling his own cattle. any time you get a chance to pass by his yard in newcastle stop just for the drool factor alone id recommend it. any how all i have to add for the moment. Mike
