Hallo guys
Everyone of you knows the Autocar Dump Truck kit. What type is this truck exactly? Ok the fenders are heavy duty. The cab has the door hinges set high so I think it’s the standard one from the 50es up to the 70es. And the radiator grille? Or better said from when was this truck build? Thanks a lot for your help. So long Arnd

So long Arnd Hi Arnd, The kit is a fairly accurate 1970's version DC-9964. The cab is good except for the front windshield opening (which is wrong on every AMT kit with that cab), especially the outer bottom corners. The grill has sloped sides, where on the actual trucks they were straight & vertical. Now for understanding the Autocar nomenclature, we can use the kit "DC-9964", D= the drivers cab that was introduced in 1950. C= diesel power. If there is no second letter, it would indicate gas or petrol power. the first 9 = chassis weight class, the higher the number the heavier the truck. the next 9= a set back front axle, if this were a even number it means a set forward front axle. The 64= is the drive line layout, in this case a 6x4. So for something a bit bigger, like a DC-20364-D-OH... D= drivers cab C= diesel 203= 200,000 lb capacity, set back front axle 64 = 6x4 drive D = dump OH= Off Highway Ap40
