Thanks for that tip Rick. I knew that you could order double lengths. But not in bulk. I will have to look at what I have in stock. One things that eats styrene is building crane boom!! ON that I used angle for the chords and round rod for the struts. I'll post a picture of what I built soon. Be Well Gator Gator, Nice, now a little "terminology" the chord is correct, the tubular members are called "lacing". now the square box at each end of a boom section, where the 2 pin together is called the "picture frame". Most modern cranes, as in conventional (lattice) use tubular chord sections. Although some still have the angle iron chord such as the Manitowoc 999 & 2250. Ap40 Rick, Those terms might be for up there where you are. The terms I used are what I know from Miami. And I was an Operating Engineer for 15 yrs. Yes Manitowoc uses angle chords but it goes back to the 4000 and the 4100 as far as I know. Way back when 1970 or so. When I got into construction there were several cranes that had angle iron boom chords. on some the angle was facing in and on other the angle was facing out. Then came square tubing chords and round chords. I was not a crane operator . But I helped to put together and bust out my share of boom over the years. I did spend a couple of years running self jacking tower cranes, static mount and or jacking through the floors. Now they are fun. The highest crane I ran was at 525ft under the hook so you can figure I was anywhere form at almost eyeball level with the hook ( offset cab) or 6-10 ft above the hook. For some reason I had a hard time reading the hook motion, when I was flagging or running a conventional crane. But in the climbing tower cranes I had no problem. I guess because I was looking down at the hook instead of up! So I guess we are both right! Be Well Gator

I'll make a call up to Eugene and see if they have them up there and try to get a hold of a bunch of them. William, I will be going to Eugene toy and hobby after work early next week if you want me to check on the rulers for you. I am pretty sure they have some plastic ones in 1/24 and 1/25 scale. If I remember right that is were I got mine. Dave They DO NOT! have any at Eugene Toy & Hobby, I got the last one of each today and they told me that's the LAST of them, one suppler went out of business and the other can't get them any more!? they've had both of these hanging on the rack for more than a year now, they were $4.29 each. A GOGGLE search isn't turning up much either!?
