Hi my name is Kevin and I just joined a few days ago after finding this group. I am currently building and kit-bashing a 1/16 W900 Kenworth into a logging truck. I have extended the frame rails, modified the cab and hood, and build the cab gaurd out of brass. The bunks will be machine milled and then cast into resin pieces. First few pictures are of the truck I am modeling after and the other pics are of the build so far. Any and all feedback welcome.
Almost completed brass cab gaurd the mounting is temp, I have to extend and add a step that is in the center next to the axe (as seen in the above picture). Then add light brackets on either side.
Rear frame extended, an RC 1/16 scale Pintle Hitch installed and safety chains.
Since the fuel tanks on the real truck are positioned differant from the kit that means the air tanks are mounted seperately and in a differant location other than the kit. Here is the remounted the air tanks.
Here I added a Cummins NTC 400 from Ken's Customs instead of the kit Cat 3408

Super sized build! Fantastic use of a otherwise mundane mega mound of plastic. Especially like seeing it turned into a day cab. What type / brand of trailer will you be scratch building for it?

Kevin, It looks like you have quite a project going on here. I really like the brass headache rack. Do you build in 1/24th and 1/25th scales as well?

In reply to both, I am trying to keep true to the photos I have. It is a Gerenal Stinger. I just need the right diminsions. I am using the photos as a guide and also the AMT Perless kit scaling it up. I am crazy and like challenges, building in 1/16 there isn't much in aftermarket parts like 1/25 scale. I use to work for an industrial model builder and through the years I have most of the equipment, lathe, drill press and band saw, still need a milling machine. Right now I am saving for a 3D scanner/printer. I can then cast my parts after they are printed in resin. I have built in 1/24, 1/25, 1/32, and 1/35 scale trucks. Thanks Gator, I love working with brass.

Kevin, It sounds like you and Rick ( ap40 ) should get together. I am sure the results of any collaberation would be outstanding! And I am sure that William or Rick might have some info on the measurements you seek.
