Did you after the paintjob a polish? If so, what did you use for it to polish it so shiny
Here are the steps I go through. I let my paint dry on its own without quick drying paint tricks. About 3 or 4 days and a week if its Enamel, before moving on to the next step.
All paint is from the can no Air Guns. Its all in the prep work.
Steps on this paint job
1 Very Light guide coat of primer. Then Dry sand the body with 150 grit paper getting high spots and mold lines out of the way. Filling low areas with putty.
2 Spray Dupli Color Gray filler primer. Wet sanding with 400 grit sandpaper
3 Sprayed silver Base. No sanding on the silver I just washed it after a couple of days before painting the Burgundy.
4 About 5 coats of Burgundy then after a week wet sanded with 600 grit.
5 Four coats of candy apple red over the burgundy and it went on smooth enough it didn't need wet sanding. And there is no buffing done or waxing. With this one there wasn't any clear coat needed.
However I use Model Master #2936 Enamel High Gloss, when I do need it.
I used the Model Master gloss over Lacquer testing it out. After the Lacquer dried for a week,it was wet sanded with 600 grit and I had no problems with it messing the Lacquer up and no waxing or buffing was needed.
Hope this helps anyone out that wants to try it. And thanks everyone for all the comments Anyone can also send me a PM if you need anything and maybe we can get on the phone if needed.
