.......Oh yeah like I need to start another project....This one is a semi (no pun intended) tribute to my best friend, his dad(he was like a second dad to me) drove and retired from P-I-E,Charlie drove from the 50's through the 70's and he at one time was one of the few with the trucks with a sleeper...the truck in the picture was not his, just a similar truck.....we lost Charlie back in '95 and I'm sure he's punching 13 forwards for the man upstairs now .....here's to you Charlie......
This is the look I am trying for...yeah HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Have to cut it to make the 61 series cab.
YAY!!!! I got it sectioned, why am I excited? cuz its the first I ever cut/modified.
A mock up of the shortened cab.
Now the ridiculous overly high mounted head lamps, the one thing that really bothers me on this kit,the height AMT put the headlamps on this kit in real life the headlamps would be so high it would burn a hole in the back of the heads of the car in front of them ;D
did this by blade,yippee....
Broke down and got a Dremel, makes life sooooo much easier, filled the step cutouts in so I can change to a more rounded wheel opening.
The start of the arch, got some of the body work done on the front used auto body filler for the first time and I like it better than model fillers, will finish the arch when I get the headlamps worked in and the exhaust cutout in the right rear, want to do these items before I mate the two halves together .....
Any and all thoughts, ideas and or comments god, bad, ugly,or indifferent are always welcome....thanks for lookin'
