Good to hear you tracked down a hobby shop. (And to think I was proud of being able to make a stop at a hobby store with the semi a while ago - you can make it happen with a container ship!

So ive made my dolly rests...my fingers wernt made for these little parts. the flip-ins work but are a few scale inches shorter than planned, also cut off the rests that were part of the front bunk...Im also lerning that red can be difficult to paint as with many coats it dosnt cover dark spots of grey filler putty and primer Attachments:

Jim, Websters needs to get updateIFIED LOL it should be a word! Im not really sure what I would have to do with the cab...door supports and windows? sounds way above my skill level, one thing that was easy was when making the new cab back i made the back window smaller, not quite sure how big its supposed to be but i know they were smaller back then.

Check out Illini Replicas. He offers a 1962 W900 and a 1960 900 Series. I have not used them, but they look quite nice. apps.aitruckmodels.com/Gallery/album.cfm?a=8735If you don't want to purchase a $70 resin kit, you could probably fins a AMT Kenworth W925 and use that cab (or make your's look like that).

AMT's W925 is discontinued but does still turn up on the old kit market, it is the early 1970's version with turn handle door latches so should work well with the mod kit.

Either the AMT W925 (if you can find one on eBay), or probably the K123. I don't think you'd want to use the Revell USA or Revell of Germany kits as they have the air ride suspension.

Are the Watkins and movin on AMT kits exactly the same?

I believe they are, unless it is a very early issue of the Watkins which may come with torsion bar suspension.

Yes, they are exactly the same except for the decals. Robert is correct, some of the early issues of the Watkins truck have the torsion bar suspension (hence the W925 designation), while later issues if the Watkins & "Movin' On" kits have the spring suspensions (technically they are W923).
Now, some people who know a heck of a lot more about logging than I do should be able to confirm this, but I don't thing the torsion bar suspension would be appropriate for a logging truck.

Thanks Robert and Jim, I just won the watkins truck on EBAY and it has the torsion bar suspention....46bucks and 9 doller shipping dose this seem reasonable?

If that was a kit and not a built up, that is a good price. Normally they will bring a few more bucks.
