Maybe I should call it the "hybrid" KW. I combined the 1991 re-issue of the Monogram Snap KW with an AMT Alaskan Hauler to get a late '70s/early '80s KW W900. I originally was going to try and update an AMT kit, but I had a spare snap kit and went ahead with this instead. Orange=Monogram kit White=AMT A combination of monogram, AMT, and Revell AG parts gives us a sliding 5th wheel. The CAT after detailing. The dash after a few mods I had to strip and repaint the cab, hood, and sleeper, but here is the color scheme I'm going with. This edition of the snap KW had "self-stripping" chrome. The orange plastic was always showing through. So I stripped it and sprayed it with Model Master Aluminum Plate buffing lacquer. It gives everything a nice finish. Also, the frame was shortened by 20 scale inches. The visor is from an Amt KW W925. You just have to shave a little off the inner corners of the visor as well as the cab corners to get it to fit. A combination of the snap kit steer axle with Ertl 4270 steer axle ends. Here is the hood with the photoetch W900 grille kit from Czech Truck Modelle. It's meant for the Revell AG W900, but fits here easily. Thanks for looking. I'll post more pix soon.

WOW! I dont think i have a paint brush that could create the detail on that dash let alone the super small person to operate it... im working on the same kit and had no idea that there were numbers on that speedo great detail and the ingector lines engine side NICE! did you add the radios to the dash? Awsome job!

Awsome job! One way around that would be to tint the windows. I have done this several times & it is a great way of "hiding what i don't care to fix" Ap40

Awsome job! Thanks. The dash has the following mods: Defroster vents from Amt K100 aerodyne dash as well as the radio/heater controls from an old amt W925 dash. The truck I used for reference was a 1980 W900 with a Splendor interior. I'm going to try and do that interior as well. At least now I have an idea of how to do the headliner. As to progress, I'm re-doing my bodywork so I can prime and paint it again. I didn't think about the Purple Bath eating away all my putty work. I already have my replacement decals for the stripes. I thought I would be further along but the paint was taking effort to strip(DupliColor paint). Sent from my SPH-D710 using proboards
