Back in the 1970's Lindberg made 3 construction models, a mix of scales. They made one tire & scaled 3 Wabco machines to fit the tires. As a kid i built one of each & they still sit in a show case for the oddities. what made these really strange is they are a combination of snap, glue & metal nuts n bolts to put them together. Here is the Wabco front end loader. in about 1-45 scale. Ap40 Attachments:

This is the Wabco elevating scraper, in about 1-60th scale. fairly accurate, but still crude. Have not seen a un-built kit of this one in a long time. I have 2 built ups. Ap40 Attachments:

Lastly, here is the Wabco 35C in 1-40th scale. This one is the most accurate of the 3 & I suspect this is what the tires were done for in the beginning. Around 1981 Lindberg did a second run & called it "Big Moe", it was molded in blue & was kit # 1224. Ap40 Attachments:

I remember these units. They were quite detailed for the times they were released and many of them made their way into O Guage model railroading.

I had those kits as youngster too! Sadly mine are long gone, great memories seeing these. I also had most of their smaller scale trucks ("Mini-Lindys" IIRC) like the Post Office van, dump truck etc.
