Thanks Rick just what i was looking for looks pretty simple to scratch build the suspension.I'm thinking make the parts from brass then mold and cast them shouldn't be to hard to do.Might be a good idea to purchase the book.

I did a preliminary basic layout drawing of the chassis to figure out the tandem wheel base which is 52 inches axle center to axle center come to find out if this is correct the second axle chain drive is shorter than the front one question is it correct.

I have 3 mack ac kits so i decided to add a single axle short frame tractor to the project also purchased a few feet of 1227 pitch chain and several sprockets to make the chain drives look realistic still in the drawing process and figure out what heavy haul company had mack ac in any configurations.

That would be a bone stock 1924 AC-4 7 1/2 ton. Are you going to make the single drive tires? Those trailer wheels look pretty neat.

Not sure yet i have the kit rears i set up by the directions to get an idea i might scratch build a single tire to fit the kit wheels the trailer wheels will have to be scratch not much info but then they don't look to hard to do from the pic scratch building may be the best choice i built the frame from the kit not to sure if its long enough for the tractor well its a start i do have plenty of part to work with.

Just a little FYI, the Monogram kit is sort of a 1926-ish 5 ton. to make a 7 1/2 ton you need heavier front & rear springs, as well as heavier axles.

May I ask where you acquired the chain and sprockets? A while back I was searching for small chain and found none. Your project is coming along quite nicely. Thanks Carl

Carl, I got some chain like this years ago from Plastruct. You might want to go online and order there catalog. They have a lot of thing you could use in your dio's and on your builds.
