Back in 1999 I scratch built 2 Mack FK chain drive tractors. One in Gerosa Heavy haulage colors & trim & the other in Wellington Services, the last FK to go into civilian service. It is known as the "white Wellington" as it came thru with a white cab & During the war, time was more important than color. After that every Wellington truck came thru with a white cab. The Gerosa FK, 1939, 180 Cummins, 12x24 front tires & 14x25 rears. The model sits on a brass frame & over 200 scratch built parts, including double layers of 1/64" thick mahogany for the window frame. Also, this is fitted with the original vertical capstan winch behind the cab. In all over 400 hours went into the layout & build of each FK. Next i will post images of the Wellington unit. Ap40

Next, here is the White Wellington unit # 6. These were originally fitted with 180 Cummins, but after about 10 years in service, they were upgraded to 220 Cummins. This unit also had the vertical winch replaced by a heavier horizontal winch. The same 12x24 front & 14x25 rear tires were used, another scratch built brass frame, and an additional 200 scratch built bits & pieces to complete this model. This FK, like the Gerosa unit, were built from old factory drawings & reference photos taken of the actual units. Some vintage photos were supplied by a life long friend. There are 2 other surviving & restored Wellington Mack FK's, both are all read with yellow pin striping & lettering. Units 3 & 8 which are both in a private collection on the east coast. Ap40
