1/24 scale, scratch built Mack M-45SX. The only kit parts are the head, marker & tail lights, seat & steering wheel. Tires are true 18x25 patterned & cast in resin, as is the Mack Plani-drive rears, springs f& r, air cleaners, 5th wheel. Engine is a casting from my personal patterns of a Cummins VT-1710 hooked to a Allison CL(B)T-6062. The cab, frame, front end and so on is all scratch from ABS. Ap40 Attachments:

Now that is one massive tractor!! How much weight do you think she could pull?? That would be one heck of a house mover!! be Well Gator Most of the M-45SX's to roll off the assembly line were quarry rock trucks, and rated at 45 ton capacity. As a tractor, a single unit can pull 100-200 ton no problem on level ground. When 2 are used in a push pull, 300-400 ton +. Up on the North Slope oil fields in Alaska, there were a few special ordered as bed (SOW) trucks. they were all fitted with the Cummins KTA-600 & Allison transmisions. Ap40

Now THAT is a truck!!! Outstanding!!!!! Of course, there are always the questions.............What will it pull??? Answer..anything it wants.. and where do you park it?? Anywhere you want.. not too many units around that could move it!!,It's good to be king!!
Outstanding work!!! would love more information!! I remember one of those up here in Alberta years ago it was operated by Totran. I realy think that particular Mack was one of their better looking trucks
Cheers and Thank you for posting the pics!!

I have looked at this build several times and have failed to comment. Basicly, this type of vehicle I normally would walk by to see something else. Just my own personal preference but................. the workmanship in this unit is absolutely outstanding. From idea to completion and you followed thru very nicely and built a wonderful scratch built model and that friends, is something I've never done. Way to go. Mike
