This is a conversion of the 1926 Mack log truck to a 1926 tractor. I built a period correct 5th wheel out of scrap and a pill bottle bottom. The grease on the 5th wheel is Vasoline on flat black. The updated headlights and triple tire rear wheels are resin products from Industrial Model Design by Richard Mark. I tried a little damage on the right front. The headlight bracket is bent and the hook is broken off. There is a little silver paint dry brushed onto show scrapes, but it doesn't show up in the photos. This is the kit I started with. This truck is meant to look like a used truck that has been pretty well kept up. Remember, in this era things like a roof, head lights, tail lights and other such things were options. The wheels and frame are flat coated; the cab and hood are gloss coated. I thought that might make it look a little more like a used truck. The doors dropped down into the side of the cab. So I only put one coat of gloss coat on the door to make it look a little different since it would have been down and protected from the sunlight the rest of the cab was exposed to. I still don't like the hood fit, but I am going to put it aside for a while so I don't get frustrated with it. Next will be an older tractor with out a roof or windshield. Robert, That is looking pretty good. The way everyone here is getting into building these old Macks. I just may have to get me a couple. I already have an idea for a small logging/construction type of fleet. type fleet, a dumper, log truck and a water truck and a tractor .

Thanks for the positive comments! I should point out that I choose to do a fixed table fifth wheel. It would also be accurate with a Martin rocking fifth wheel. There will be more detailing as I feel like it.
Gator: think tractor pulling a early log trailer using the flat bed frame from the Monogram truck as a start for the trailer. Less parts for the parts bin!

Nice build Robert! Now it just needs either a coal bucket or a Rogers low bed behind it!
A AC Mack with no roof or window is referred to as a "Bermuda cab", with most of them being exported to the tropical islands & south america.
