Thought I would post a few memories from yesteryears of the area which I live and worked. These are from up at Catching creek, at Coyote Flats on the KG Ranch. Part of our equipment is shown on the flats waiting for the day and me to go to work. Yes I am wearing a .45 Long Colt on my hip and my brass framed .45 long colt Winchester, because of Cougars and bear which infiltrated the Camp and equipment. Never left camp with out them. Next shot: Old Granny my Mord as the guys called her. She is a ford but had a Mack Dog on her hood and I replaced the ford emblem on the grill with an old oval Mack name plate which I found at goodwill. Next shot: Morning on the flats with old Rattler my Cat idling away in the morning mist. Next shot, from left to right: One of our Portable rip mills which followed from job to job. You never know when you might need a couple of splinters. Shakey, our loader which was useless in the hills on the job but was alright for hookin at the rippers. Old Blue the Dump which I built the model from and I am standing beside in my Avatar on this site. In the back ground is Growler the Kamatsu Dozer who hated to get up in the mornings.I had an hour and a half when I took these shots before heading up Number one road with Old Blue to the quarry and then to number three to the landing with a load of Riff, and then back down again to do some road work with Rattler. What a life. This shot Biscuits baking in the dutch oven. Ready for the crew. Was a beautiful area and I still have a trailer up there on the flats by permission of the owner, as my get away from Hell retreat. Just me , the Wife and Mother Nature. Damn what a life!!!!! William
