I found that site years ago when seeking some info on the old military trucks searching for parts. I used to be fire chief in our small town. The federal gov't gives away surplus equipment. We wanted to build a forestry truck, so we took about 12 trucks of various types to build one. We only wanted a couple truck's but there was a "batch" of them, so, we found ourselves the owners of 12 M series trucks of various types. We had 5 tons, 2 1/2 tonners, and one M123 ten tonner. There were dumps, tractors, troop carriers and a wrecker. We ended up building the trucks we wanted, and held the others for years until they were declared disposable. I, as chief, kept the surplus ones at my shop, as I had lots of room. They sure were fun to rumble around in. My favorite was the 5 ton wrecker, the M62. THAT old girl was useful. Alas, I left the department and moved from that town. The new chief, decided that they were useless, and he scrapped them all, including the two forestry trucks we built.
