Haven't thrown this in the bin (yet ), just a slow process making some piece's, on the second bash with the track rollers - happier with this lot so far (only 14 piece's per roller, not including the U-bolt, nuts etc): time to throw some glue at another pair and continue cutting up bits for the tracks (worst part of the build). Cheers for looking in.

Cheers Gator. My plan before even starting this project was to revert back to all the old school techniques and using only basic hand tools (excluding occasional mini-drill use) i.e. no AM (excluding the rivet heads - still haven't mastered that technique yet ), no resin casting etc etc. Although I could have turned down the track rollers in alloy in half the time of the method I'm using, to be I'd cheating from my original intent. I like making life difficult for myself .

Just spent the day breaking down the engine into manageable sub-assemblies (sitting at 60 sub-assemblies so far). Might take a little longer than I'd first thought . Have built the basic engine block and head and part of the sump (sump is 6 sub-assemblies by itself ). No photo's just yet as it looks a bit of a disaster zone. However for those up for a challenge here's the 1:1 (I can supply detailed plans if you want to have a crack ): Unfortunately there won't be any progress for the next week or so as I'm off to respite (again ). Cheers for looking in and having a poke around.

That's ok, Roger, I'm good! That's considerably beyond my skill level. Looking forward to your progress shots.

C'mon Jim, you'll never know your capabilities if you don't try . Seems I can't get anyone to do the engine for me , guess I'll just have plod on and do it myself .

Only me again , Definitely time to take up knitting , Needed a break from the engine - only 50 sub-assemblies left to go , sooooooo thought I'd finish the mounts for the track frames plus finish the equaliser beam, however after making a quick building jig and plonking the track frames on it that I discovered I had messed up in a major way somewhere . Have checked, rechecked and checked all the measurements against the plans and parts book but still can't figure it out. Anywho, here's the "problem zone": The angle beams are NOT meant to overlap but should just touch at the tips . If anyones looking for me, I'm the one in the corner knitting tea cosy's

Hi, Are the tips meeting where they should? How far in front of outer frames should they be? I don't see a mark. Looks like a slight angle change. Inner I beam is centered on line? Should it be on line? Been there, know what it is like.Model building and woodworking. You convince yourself everything is right, measurements check out, only you keep repeating the same error without knowing. Try turning around looking from the opposite side. Thanks Doug

Cheers Doug, Problem solved: However, I'll need to finish the rear of the transmission and final drives before I can work out a solution. Any changes on the angles will alter the track length and width, so will get the equaliser beam fitted then I can properly see where the "hiccup" has occured.
