After a lenthy strugle The lads got steam up and took the lombard out for a slide around the yard. These are the first pics of the completed model. If the weather cooperates I'l try for some outdoor shots in the snow. Thanks for looking. Its good to get this thing out of the in progress section at last. Thanks Carl

Superb! The G scale crew is a perfect fit - both size and proper "work garb". With the way this winter in Ontario has gone, I hope you're not relying on nature to provide the snow base/ice road!

Carl, Great job on that one. Did you do any work on the figures to add size to them?

Thanks for the compliments, Guys. Gator the figures where all beat upon. The driver is RoG driver fireman fro the waist down. the upper torso is from a Hasagawa skier complete with the toque. The arms came from a sprint car driver. The engineer is top half is from a G scale train figure? legs are from a fujimi mechanic. The arms were repositioned. and the fireman legs are Tamyia mechanic and the top, arms and head are from the parts box. The bib overalls were made by adding Appoxie Sculpt putty to the figure. I tend to buy figure kits then take all the parts off the sprues and toss them in a shoebox. When I need a figure I root through the pile and pick out parts that are close to what I want. What the figures looked like before painting Thanks again Carl

Thanks to William posting this pic of a log sled on another site for me I was able to google enough info to build my sleds. this is how my sleigh looks The wooden parts are cut from salvaged red cedar from last summers deck repairs. The fittings are mostly made from evergreen plastic. Nuts and bolt heads are from HO scale bridge bits. A trip through the back yard yeilded a load of logs for the sleigh and the side stakes. Now all we need is a little snow to get this load off to the mill Thanks Carl

I also like your fire wood buggy in the background there. ;)Like most of my models there is a back story to that buggy. Every year the model club that I belong to has a theme build they are decided by drawing ideas out of a hat. Anyway one year the theme was station Wagons. Not something that I'm into. Not a wagon in my stash. So I scratch built this CNR Station Freight wagon. The deck is from left over section of a flat deck trailer. wheels were made from rings cut from a pill bottle. It was a fun build that met the title of the theme if not the intent Carl

You have some amazing talent Carl. I just showed your build to my wife and as I am she is very impressed. I would hate to be the guy that had to steer it looks to me like he would get wet and cold on bad days. I also like your wood cart story. Dave

The crew has a head of steam up and this log train is bound for the mill. The Lombard made its first public appearance at the Guelph show on Saturday. It finished 2nd in a field of 3. That's better than my air ambulance dio that finished 3rd in a field of 2 I thought that it looked right in B&W Life's been a bit hectic lately so I haven't had a chance to post much. I hope to rectify that real soon Thanks Carl
