I used the reissue of the old AMT kit of the Chevy Bison for this truck. i've always liked the look of the Bison and General conventionals. I used the reissue Peerless trailer for it and added a short frame extention on the rear of the truck frame. I used a set of spare 5 hole Budd steel wheels for the rear drivers, and replaced the kit airbag suspension with a Hendrickson setup off of a Chevy Titan cab over. I used Krylon red and grey paint for the color scheme. I used various kit and home made decals for the markings. I wanted a basic no frills company truck, with a little bit of chrome. Cheers: Bill

The truck and trailer look great. You hit a home run with your goal in my opinion.
I have one question though. What is the process you go through when you make the reach thicker on the trailer as I would like to start doing this myself.

That is really nice! i like the colors, good masking job. I always wondered why that truck was never offered with pit fenders??

Thanks guys:
Ryan I replace the reach and section of the trailer that it telescopes through with Evergreen square tubing. It looks a lot better than the kit parts by a mile.
Cheers:

eallyb a nice build there, I like it a lot. I have one of these on the back shelf, might give it a try one day with pit fenders instead of the stock ones like Gator mentioned. Could work it up into a off Hwy logger.

Nice, finally a great use for a sort of goofy looking truck. I to have several of the original General & Bison kits with no real idea what to do with them other than rob the nice 8V71 out for other builds...

That looks great. I love the colour combo. Big ole 70's style logger looks great. Mike
