Not much progress on her (or anything model related) in the last couple of months, but she's still in my mind. Wanna get something done, but there's a lot of scratch building, and it's fairly new territory for me, so it's slow going.

Take your time in scratchbuilding, it's something you don't need to rush. Once you get the hang of it, you'll see it's fun and rewarding!

I do that all the time. I have about twelve projects going right now and do a little on them at a time so boredom don't set in. Like Joris said, Take your time.

Tyson, You have gotten off to a really good start on Bertha. But no where is it written that building models is a race or that you have to build everything in a hurry. And like Muleskinner said, most of us have more than one project on the bench at a time. BUILD WHEN YOU FEEL IT IS RIGHT AND CHANGE SUBJECTS WHEN YOU ARE A BIT OFF ON SOMETHING!

Taking your time always makes the model turn out better anyway

Definitely taking my time. That's for certain. Me being lazy and a lack of time coupled with lack of reference material is a bit demotivational, but I definitely want to get it done sometime within the next couple of months. I have done bits here and there though. Carved out the doors and piecing together the radiator housing. And here is the best I could do with the available reference for the frame brackets. Still some more to do, but most of it is guess work, and I'm certain it's not 100% accurate.

Also, the AMT Ford LN-8000 snow plow / 10 wheel tractor came with one. Ap40 You wouldn't happen to have pictures of it would you? All the pictures I can find don't have clear pics of the suspension from that kit.

Just a quick thought. Would anyone be interested in small conversion kits if I could find someone to cast them up, if everything turns out okay? I just want to know before I start glueing everything down.
I should have some new pics of the grill tomorrow.

Thanks for that. Well, little later than "tomorrow", but here they are. Still not 100%. Sprayed some parts black to see any imperfections, and there are still plenty.

Working a bit on the... my brain won't let me think of the proper word for them... vents is the only word I can think of. Just a test fit. Gonna get some styrene rods to replace the brass rods, and everything will be straightened up and made a bit neater. The vents will be able to close as well, as you can see.

Tyson, I think the word you are looking for is "louvres". And from the picture you posted they are looking good. But that has to be very tedious work puting those together. I really want to see how you are going to make them work.

Most of the time were air actuated, needed when it was cold out & of course since they used air & were on the out side of the grille they always seemed to freeze in the wrong position....... Ap40
