That was filmed by a pal of mine Tim Twitchel. He is a heavy haul, crane, truck nut, south of Buffalo New York.

nice video. We get a real impression what the job as such a truck driver must. But one question, what type transmission does this truck have? Is that sothing like a half automatic? No clutch pedal but a stick to to change the gears?

nice video. We get a real impression what the job as such a truck driver must. But one question, what type transmission does this truck have? Is that sothing like a half automatic? No clutch pedal but a stick to to change the gears? so long Arnd Most have a Allison CL(B)T-5960 or 6062. These are a power shift-automatic, with a lock up converter. the lock up works like a engaged clutch, so there is no slippage. The shift lever track looks like a saw tooth pattern on some, when you want to shift, the driver must manually pull or push into the next gear needed. By having the lock up converter on, when the engine brake is applied there is no loss in braking horse power. If the lock up is off, the engine brake is useless, and only the trucks service brakes can be used. The "power shift" design allows for greater use & control of higher horsepower engines in off highway applications. Plus they are easy to drive. ;D ;D Ap40

I just saw this video the other day. It was very well done. The videos just can't capture how steep it is.
