William,
Super conversions based on the Cat D-8 kit! And a Euclid at the top! Oh my, now if there was ever a dozer in need of casting in 1/25.....
You must have been buying the D-8's by the case!

Acctually I was trading for them and also buying them when they were re released a few years ago. Now they are far and few to be found. But I still keep loking for them especially in the case of parts boxes which people want to get rid of. Cats are a special liove of mine from my logging days.

Great collection, the third one down, with the black top, what kind of attachment is on the blade? What is it used for? Brush?

Great collection, the third one down, with the black top, what kind of attachment is on the blade? What is it used for? Brush? The third one is for pushing stacked chips at the terminal. the blade attachment is an extension to keep the chips from going back over the blade and to add extra pushing space to the blade its self.

William, Again an inspiration for the rest of us! As you well know here in Nor Cal in the 50's 60's cat logging was king, but the only D-8's were the road builders, and the work horse of the woods was the old D-7 many 17-A's and T-3,s. My Dad had a few T-3's and the first TD-20 in the Mendo County woods. Stevenson Equipment had a photographer follow it skidding logs for a day (I wonder if these ever made it in to any brochures?) Im wondering how i could slice and downsize an amt D8 to D7 size?
