Hi all I worked again a bit on the Autocar. First I reworked the rear tires and reworked the rear suspension. Then I started with the frame. I made it a bit longer to be of the same length as the one from my GMC. The rear is straight with the hitch in the middle. The front axel is reworked and glued to the right place. I had to put it a bit higher to have a bit more space to the fenders. Now the truck looks really nice. The big tires give it a real hard working truck look. I hope to start the next days with the engine. It will be the “Iron lung” perfect for that big lady. So long Arnd

Hi all I received the engine for my Autocar, the Cummins “iron lung” from Dan Models and wanted to show you more about it. It is a grate kit really highly detailed and of very well quality. The right type would be Cummins NHS-600. Here some shots of all the parts. And one from the resin rest. The parts are very exactly worked so you just have to cut away the resin rests and just sand it a bit. That is all for reworking. Here the parts. Then I started to build them together. It is very easy you even do not need an instruction. The parts fit well together with out any problems. It is for each builder even with out a lot of experience possible to put this kit together. There are a lot of details worked out so you can put it together and use it like it is or you can start and detail it with all the lines and pipes the real engine has. What I like best are the belt pulleys, they are really grate worked. The engine is worked to fit in all AMT/ERTL kits which are using the Cummins inline six cylinder engines with out any modifications. The don’t use the transmission for that truck but it is of the same quality like the engine, grate worked and highly detailed. All in all it is a grate after marked part which upgrades your truck a lot!!!!! Sorry for the pics I now that they are not very well but I had to use my old camera for that shot, I will try to take some better ones when I will work again on the Aiutocar. So long Arnd

That's a nice engine. Might pick one up in the future. Always like seeing updates to this build. It's one I look forward to seeing updates for every day when I check the forum.

Great looking build. Once you use the 12R24 tires, everything else looks too small. I have a lot of those tires waiting for use.
I have not heard of Dan Models. Do they have a website?
Keep up the great work!

Beautiful rig!!! I have so much to learn, when you fabricated the headlight guards did you use heat to bend the material around the pencil?
