Here is my most recent completed project. I know that some of you here have seen these truck I posted. For those that have not. Here is a little run down.
The project used a Revell W900 as a donor kit. Basically just the frame was used and then shortened 1.5”. Aftermarket parts include Auslow Signature series Cummins engine, CB aerials, and the swan on the hood. Other aftermarket parts from KFS include the real aluminum fuel tanks, wheels, exhaust silencers, pipes, and marker lights. The conversion kit was mastered by Bill Drennen and sold by CFC which is now available from P&P Resin Works. The rear drive tires, cab mounts, fenders, and rear deck plate are from GW trucks. Bumper guides and rear mud flaps came from Rhinos Model Truck Parts. Vortex air breathers are from Mo Aluminum and the HYD tank behind the cab came from Leo Vanderstelt. The Kenworth hood emblems and door hinges are from MCG. Frame decals and warning decals are from Scale Truck Studios. Gladhands and light connection are from Plaskit.
The colors were all applied with an airbrush. They are Model Master Bright Yellow, Plum Crazy Purple, and Sunburst Orange for the engine. The cab steps, rear fenders, rear deck plate and HYD tank are Alclad polished aluminum. The front bumper and air horns are Model Master aluminum.
The doors were cut open to add interest. Handmade steps on the fuel tanks also add realism. Custom pieces between the battery box and hood are covered with chrome tape. The KW emblem that is on the hood behind the front wheels was cut off, painted by hand, and then reattached. For the fifth wheel, putty was added to simulate grease and an unlocking handle was added to it. Custom exhaust and air intake piping had to be made from Plastruct tubing and painted Testors aluminum.
Thanks
