Hosted on FotkiA friend sent me this photo. It's pretty neat. Mike Had you ever seen this picture of Al Peterman’s first venture at building a truck? He bought out the Fageol Truck company in Oakland and started building Peterbuilts.

UUUMMM, Ok that is super neat, BUT it is not a Peterbilt. It is a Kenworth, see the emblem on the side of the hood, plus the "shovel nose" grill & cab....
My 2 pennies.

You may be right Rick as I can't read the logo but it was sent to me as a Peterbilt. Mike

A little research and this turns out to be a Shovelnose Kenworth. But...........Al Peterman was a mill owner in Tacoma, WA and bought timber in the Morton, WA area. He was building his own trucks as a better way to get his logs to market. Tired of chain drive it is said that he was the first to use gear drive with a driveshaft. He built his trucks in Morton and the shop still stands but he later sold out to PACCAR and the rest is history. Peterbilt. You can Google Al Peterman for the full story. Mike
