Here is a typical central NY Mack CL-713 tractor with a tri axle hay rack trailer set up for storm clean up. the trailer has a center mount self loader, and steel plate has been weled to the lower portions of the racks to hold in the small storm debris. This outfit hauls tree & debris to there yard & runs everything thru a tub griner to make mulch. Ap40 Attachments:

Now those two trailers with the center drop are like the ones that they use down here! But most of the time they are hauling long thin pine trees for the paper mills. I do not know how much weight they are carrying . But I have seen them loaded down. And have seen one or two flipped over because they were loaded so high. When I see them I give them a wide berth!!

They are a big company out of Mississippi. The trailers on Swamp logger are just about all Magnolia builds. Every once in a while you see one out here but not to many. Semi 5th wheel Logging just never cought on, on the West Coast.

5th wheel logging in the west is very difficult with the roads one must travel. Many switch backs that just make it extremely hard to semi around. Oh! It can be done but it's difficult. Besides, our system works and you can toss the trailer on your back and save wear and tear plus it gives weight for traction climbing some of those steep logging grades. Nothing worse than to be an a pull that a semi has dug up looking for traction. Mike
