The following are some old logging pictures taken around Coos County, Oregon here where I live. Falling an old growth doug fir. Over loaded logging truck being assisted off the landing by a Cat. One log load Doug fir. A thing of the past here in Coos County. Oxen team and turn. Green acres area is located about tenn miles from my home. Johnsons mill located about five miles west of my residence. The pond is now a favorite bass fishing spot for the area. High lead unit located at Camp Three for Smith-Power Lumber Company in Powers, Oregon. Mr. Mast who is noted in the photo is the grand father of a good friend and neighbor of mine ,here in Norway, Or.

yep he did. From iron mountain down china flats and on into Powers, Oregon. Slow run off road, but he did make it. There are several pictures in the Myrtle Point Museum collection of loads like this being brought out of the woods, here in Coos County.
