Just thought that I would post a couple of my photo's. The first was taken at Hunter and Rounds Logging in Deming, Washington in May of 1940. My uncle at the wheel of a 1933 GMC and my dad standing next to it. Notice the wooden reach and the "cheese blocks" instead of stakes. Hosted on FotkiThe second is a photo of me along side my son's 03 KW at the top of Federated Forest near Enumclaw, Washington. This was in 04 so I've aged a bit and the truck replaced with an 07 model that is similar. Hosted on FotkiI'll toss in the 07 too and this was taken in 07 with the truck and pup loaded and all pressed out. Hosted on FotkiAnd just give you an idea of size. My dad stood 6' 4" and I stand 6' 5". See the difference in the size of the trucks. Mike

Man those old Jims are the toughest looking rigs. There was a guy in California who had a couple of them rusting away in a field for many years decked out just as this one is. He had a couple of Federals and one old chainer Mack sittin out there also. Never found out what ever happened to them. I know he wouldn't sell em because they held to many memories for him, he used to tell me.
Is that a wit-log pup tailin the main rig? Looks kinda like one.

I used to love going to the truck shows and seeing the old restored log trucks.

nice, When it comes to modeling trucks, the older the better & that 33 GMC is screaming to be modeled.
there are resin kits available for the 03 W-900L, but the GMC posses a great challenge.
Thanks for sharing,
Ap40

I can't remember what the pup was as I don't recall seeing a name on it and I have been all over it. It is gone now. The truck equipment and the tralier bunk is Whit Log. Story on this forum somewhere about taking the new KW with no bumper, hah! down to Gene. Mike
