Thanks Gator, I am pleased to have this one back on the "active" list. I will admit it is somewhat outside my "comfort" (or at least familiarity) zone being a subject I have no experience with. Info posted here on the forum such as different types of logging stingers has been a great help.

Stinger in progress, still have to attach glad hands/plug to back of tractor frame. Mud flaps made from .015 styrene sheet, assembled to stinger now as whole thing will be painted flat black. The oversize load chain supplied in AMT's flatbed trailer kit came in handy again, this time as safety chains. Testors Dark Red applied to required areas of cab & hood. AMT log trailer kit assembled basically stock except for styrene tube to make longer reach. Hose caddy parts from second kit used.

Robert, I like what you have going on here. Do you have any pics of the in progress stinger?

Some more time in the paint shop recently, grey on cab/hood and semi gloss black on frame and trailer. Followed by the cross-eyed madness of lettering. Micro-Scale HO railroad letters in white applied individually, stripes along colour separation are 1/32" strips cut from white decal paper.

Hi, looking GREAT. Been there done that with the lettering. I laid a piece of scotch tape down to use as base line to keep straight, can be cut on curve too. Not that yours looks bad, just a tip. Love your signals on the mirrors. Thanks Doug.

Thanks for the guide line tip, especially for curved lettering - will keep that in mind for future projects. I didn't mention in previous post that I "cheated" on this one's curved lettering, printed it black on clear decal paper and applied that first, then added one white letter at a time slightly offset to get the shadow effect.

Robert, nice work so far. Just one point - my eye keeps getting drawn to the sunvisor as it appears to sit too high in comparison with the 1:1 photo. Probably too late to adjust it now, but maybe something to consider in a future build .
