Hello guys, One of the projects I am moving on too is this Wilsons Cattle trailer. I know I could buy the kit but that kit is alittle old as far as whats out there today so I am trying my hand at building one. The toughest part of it is drilling all those tiny holes in the sides to make the openings. I'm using a 3/16 drill bit and drilling a hole at each end of each opening and will clean out the insides later. While I give my hand a little rest from that I started on the bottom. Getting the cross pieces in now I can start on the suspension carriage. I tried my luck on the front cap and I think it looks pretty good. Later after some sanding and such it should look okay. More to come later guys and thanks for looking Kerry

This is a very cool project Kerry! I can imagine the drilling of the holes might be a bit mind-numbing, but it's all for the good cause! Are you making it a tandem or tri-axle trailer?

No, it is going to be a tandem. I would like it to be a tri-axle but the man wants tandem. Hey what he wants he gets right?? But your right, those holes are a real pain but it should look pretty cool when finished. ( I hope)Thanks Joris. Kerry

Kerry, I see that you have started this project and are well on your way. It looks good to me. I hope your customer likes it! Did you try the center punch idea?

Gator, No I haven't. I'm hitting the small holes now and when done with them I'll tackle the bigger ones. Maybe then I can try that technique. Their 1/4 inch. Alittle easier to work with but twice the need for accuracy. more drilling now...ta ta Kerry

By the way, anyone have a suggestion on how to get rid of alllll those pencil marks? Maybe bleach? Just erasing them is not going to be good enough. Any ideas?? Kerry

Or a post calling for help from some of our European members. A unit like this one would be worth its weight in gold: www.cnc-step.com/html/cnc_frase_preise__gunstig__cnc.HTMEspecially for such a daunting task. Ap40

Ap40, what exactly does that thing do? Like a plotter? Looks expensive !!! But so far it's not so bad. Just tedious. Kerry
