Thanks Gator! Actually, I haven't been working on the Pete for three or four days, way too busy with other things. I plan to get some work on it done today, before my late shift. Do we all run into the same thing, just when you get a good groove going on a model, life steps in and changes your direction...... looking to see how this one turns out. Ap40 Amen to that. Everyday seems to bring a different project a different schedule. Going through it right now.

Thanks guys!
My good friend Ray Ellis sent me some pics of actual Cooney trucks and some info as well, all much appreciated. The interior should be tan, and there should be a Cummins under the hood... Now I'm still debating wether to go for a Cat powered Pete, or swap in a Cummins from another kit instead....?

It's final, the Cat stays! I got additional info about Cooney, apperently there are some Cat powered Petes in their fleet. Engine is in, rad is on too (many thanks Rick Mark!), sleeper is painted and awaiting BMF trim, cab is mostly done. With all the nice weather we're having here kit building is on the back burner a little, aside from work it's nice to go out and see people as well. Update pics will follow soon!

Gator, next Friday I'm out of the country for a week, in pursuit of the Swiss job prospect and spending some time with my friends. Patience Rick, I'm hoping to get a rolling frame tonight (if nothing else comes up like it usually does). ;D

Quick update on this build. Rolling frame is mostly done, cab is mostly done except for the mirrors and spotlight but the Cooney decals from modeltruckin.com are on the doors already, one breather and one stack are on; hood is on too, but onfortunately I had to glue it shut because of some fitting issues on the cowl. I have that happen more on hoods converted from 378 to 379-119 item...

Looks good - and Canadian! ;D I think Cooney needs to spec some 1:1 rigs to match your model!

Joris, You are for sure making progress on this one. The paint looks real good! For the hood fit issue. I read somewhere. That if you mount the hood first and then mount the cab to the hood it will or should come out better. That is what I read .... somewhere??? Sounds like it is worth a try!! Enjoy your week vacation. And good luck on the interview!! Be Well Gator

Thanks a lot everybody! Thanks Rob, on the Canadian compliment too; I surely appreciate that! Yeah Gator, I heard that too. Somehow one corner did meet the cowl, the other one didn't. With not wanting to risk the paint job, I opted for the easy way out.
See you all next week, hope to finish up on this Pete too then!

I like it as a day cab! put a walking deck & a winch behind the cab, add some chain racks on either side for tire chains.......
On the hood issues, for sure every 378 kit made has the same problem. the BEST one to ask would be Tim Ahlborn. On the few i have done for clients, was either glue the hood to the cab or fabricate the actual under hood bracing from brass, then super glue it to the underside. this trick works with resin as well.

Thanks Rick! I have cut in a Unibilt transition already, but you're right! The daycab looks good too. And I have this flattop 63" bunk ready, the air ride springs need to get some paint and on it goes! Tim A. is a great guy to ask anything about Pete's, he helped me out on many occasions. The brass bracing sounds interesting, might try it one day. Later, Over There...
