Somewhere in this pile of plastic parts a Pete 379 is hiding. All I need to do is to get it together.... Is it going to be a 379-119, a 379-127, old or new style dash and doors, daycab, 63" Unibilt sleeper, standard roof or Ultracab? Heck, I don't know yet. I'm just going to start on it, and just see where it leads.

Now here's a crazy thought: In the box I also found two smal pieces of frame rail and a longer second prop shaft to go between the drives. What would happen if I'd take my dremel tool and cut the frame rails just in front of the second rear axle, add in the small pieces and use the longer and thicker shaft? Would it create a realistic wide-spread rear...?

You mean like a 72" Canadian spread, eh?

Something like that indeed Jim! Of course it's all ballparking it, but the thought crossed my mind.

I cut the frame rails and inserted the parts. Some filler on the seam, letting that cure before sanding it down. More later!

Here's my wide-spread attempt. Is it completely correct? Probably not, but I can live with it. At least it's cut straight this time.

JJoris, The spread between the axles looks good to me! Will be able to tell more once you get the chassis finished up and get some wheels on it.
